In the late 1960s and 1970s I practiced law in Palo Alto, and was a founding member of the Palo Alto Law Commune. I represented an assortment of radical and counterculture people and organizations, among them Ken Kesey, Paul Krassner, the United Stanford Employees, the Midpeninsula Free University, plus many of you who were involved in A3M demonstrations. I’m proud and fond of those days. In 1982 I moved to Sacramento to become the chief judge for the Agricultural Labor Relations Board in Sacramento, transferred to Cal OSHA in 1994 and retired to Walnut Creek in 2002, where I do occasional work for the ALRB, read, travel and think about things
